Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige Review

When it comes to maintaining a sleek appearance, we understand that having the right tools is key. Recently, we had the opportunity to test the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige, and we were intrigued by its promise of delivering a close shave, even on a 7-day beard, thanks to its SenseIQ technology. With the shaving industry buzzing about this high-end model, we were eager to see if it lived up to the hype.

Upon first use, the shaver’s adeptness at tackling a dense beard was evident. Its intelligent facial hair sensor analyzed hair density 500 times per second, adjusting cutting power to glide through our whiskers with ease. The difference in shaving speed and comfort quickly became apparent compared with previous models we’ve used.

The device sports 72 self-sharpening blades, with each boasting an edge toughened by nano particles, promising long-lasting sharpness. We found that these blades lived up to that promise, efficiently cutting close to the skin without requiring multiple passes. On our skin, it felt like the Hydro SkinGlide Coating truly did its job, enhancing the shaver’s glide by 50%*. Its UltraFlex suspension system contoured to the face seamlessly, capturing hairs that other shavers might miss.

Bottom Line

The Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige has impressed us with its skin-friendly design and sharp cutting-edge technology. It has risen to the challenge of delivering a top-tier shave.

If you’re in search of a state-of-the-art electric shaver that marries power with precision, consider giving the S9000 Prestige a try.

Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige: A Cut Above

Our experience with the latest Philips S9000 Prestige has set a new bar for what we expect from electric shavers. After having used this device, we noticed a significant reduction in the number of passes needed to achieve a clean shave, even on a 7-day beard. The SenseIQ technology, which adapts the shaver to different beard densities, provides both a comfortable and efficient shave every time.

We found the skin glide to be extremely gentle, consistent with the Ultra Flex Suspension system that assures every contour of the face is reached without irritation. Impressively, the shaver managed to maintain comfort while handling various hair densities, a testament to its intelligent facial hair sensor.

One thing we’ve seen with certain shavers is the longevity of blades, but the S9000 Prestige stands out with its DualSteel Precision blades that are durable due to nano particle hardening. The 72 self-sharpening blades offer a lasting sharpness for consistently close shaves.

While the hydrophilic-coated heads boast a 50% smoother glide on the skin, a positive impact on comfort was clearly noticeable in our use. Plus, the added convenience of wet and dry functionality means you can shave in or out of the shower according to your routine.

A common gripe with electric shavers is battery life, but the Li-Ion battery in the S9000 Prestige is reliable, ensuring that you are not tethered to a charging cable with every use. Overall, despite the higher price point, the performance and convenience of the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige make it stand out in the world of electric shavers.

SenseIQ Technology for a Smart Shave

From the first pass over the contours of your face, SenseIQ technology sets the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige apart from other razors. It tailors the shaving power in real-time, providing an adaptive experience that impresses. As users, we appreciate how it reads hair density and auto-adjusts the cutting power. This ensures you receive a gentle yet effective shave every time.

The effects of Ultra Flex Suspension in this electric shaver are felt immediately as the heads flex to catch those tricky hairs along the jawline and neck. With such close contact, shaving becomes a more comfortable task. The shaver navigates seamlessly, offering a shave that is smooth to the touch without the need for excessive passes.

However, there’s a flip side. While the promise of a 50% smoother glide with the Hydro SkinGlide Coating is alluring, those with particularly sensitive skin might still experience discomfort. Our recommendation? Pair your shave with a good shaving gel to maximize comfort.

In summary, with the Norelco S9000 Prestige Shaver, you’re not just moving a blade across your skin; you’re experiencing a high-tech grooming tool that adjusts to deliver a precise, customized shave. It demonstrates Philips’ dedication to innovation in the art of shaving, making every morning routine a little less mundane.

DualSteel Precision Blades

After putting the Norelco shaver S Prestige through its paces, we’ve noticed the effectiveness of the DualSteel Precision Blades. These blades are a standout feature, and they contribute significantly to a shave that’s close and smooth. We’ve found that these blades tackle our beards efficiently, even when they get on the denser side.

Our experience with the blades showed that they maintain their sharpness remarkably well. Thanks to the nano particles that harden the blades, this Philips shaver ensures consistently sharp edges over extended use. Testing on various beard lengths yielded great results, with the blades demonstrating a strong performance on every occasion.

However, we did observe that the high speed and precision of the blades demand a careful technique to avoid irritation. The shaver S Prestige seems to excel with straight passes, and getting into the habit of letting the shaver do the work without pressing too hard is advised.

Overall, the DualSteel Precision Blades indeed live up to their name by providing a notably close shave with fewer passes required, attributing to less skin irritation and a more comfortable shaving experience.

High-Performance Battery Life

Recently, we had the opportunity to use the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige, and one thing that stood out was its battery life. We found that even with everyday use, the Li-Ion battery kept the shaver going strong without frequent charges. This is quite beneficial for those of us with busy schedules who can’t afford to charge devices daily.

  • It provides a quick charge option, which is perfect for last-minute grooming needs. Just a few minutes plugged in can give a full shave’s worth of battery.
  • The shaver also maintains consistent power distribution during usage. There was no noticeable drop in performance even when the battery was low, ensuring a smooth shaving experience throughout.
  • We appreciate the convenience of cordless use after charging, which offers flexibility and ease while tackling our beards.

In our experience, the shaver’s battery life is impressive. We used the shaver frequently for various facial hair types, including dense beards and fine mustaches, and it never faltered. However, we did notice that for exceptionally thick hair, the battery may drain quicker as the shaver works harder.

Overall, the battery performance struck a fine balance between longevity and power, something that we consider a substantial plus in the world of electric shavers.

Premium Comfort with Hydro SkinGlide

In our usage of the Philips S Prestige, we were particularly impressed with the Hydro SkinGlide coating. This unique feature stands out for creating an almost frictionless shaving experience. Imagine gliding over your skin with 500,000 microtech beads per square centimeter, these hydrophilic properties enhance smoothness by 50%, fostering maximum skin comfort during each shave.

While handling this electric shaver, we noticed the stark contrast between the S Prestige and others we’ve tried. The coating truly does what it promises, allowing the shaver to move effortlessly over contours and angles of the face. This benefit is notable when tackling areas that typically provoke irritation.

Additionally, the technology’s capacity to adapt to hair density 500 times per second is a game-changer. Adjusting the cutting power for a gentler shave is crucial, especially when dealing with varying beard textures. We found it particularly useful for both dense beards and softer stubble, ensuring an even shave without multiple passes.

The overall impact of the Hydro SkinGlide is clear: it significantly elevates the comfort level of the shaving experience with the S Prestige. Despite the innate skepticism, we found these features do contribute to a more pleasant and less abrasive shave than what we’ve come to expect from standard electric shavers.

Pros and Cons of Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige

Pros

From our recent experience with the Norelco shaver S9000 Prestige:

  • Close Shaving: The SenseIQ technology is remarkable, adapting to the different skin types and beard densities seamlessly. Our skin felt incredibly smooth post-shave.
  • Sharp Blades: The nanotech precision blades are self-sharpening, keeping them at peak performance for longer durations, rendering our shaving experience consistently close.
  • Battery Performance: Appreciating the hefty battery life, we could use the shaver for several sessions on a single charge, noting that it sustains power until the next recharge.
  • Comfortable Design: We found the Hydro SkinGlide coating and Ultra Flex Suspension to provide an enjoyable shave with 50% smoother gliding on our skin, even in tricky areas like under the nose or along the jawline.
  • Efficiency: We noticed that it handled dense beards with ease, reducing the number of passes needed to get a clean shave, saving both time and effort.
  • Wet & Dry Versatility: We used the S9000 Prestige both in and out of the shower with no compromise in performance.

Cons

We did observe a few minor drawbacks:

  • Price Point: While our shave was excellent, the cost may be a little steep for some, although we believe the quality justifies the expense.
  • Cleaning Pod: Despite appreciating the convenience, the included cleaning pod may be seen as an additional maintenance item that comes with ongoing costs for replacement parts.
  • Learning Curve: For those of us transitioning to an electric shaver for the first time, a bit of acclimation is needed to fully utilize the S9000’s features for the best result.

Authentic Customer Testimonials about the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige Shaver

In our examination of real-life feedback, we’ve observed a consistent appreciation for the S9000 Prestige’s advanced features. The new head design, for example, is frequently praised for providing a closer and more efficient shave. Users often mention the shaver’s ability to tackle several days’ worth of beard growth with ease, emphasizing the lack of irritation experienced. This aligns with our findings that the updated blades and quieter motor contribute significantly to overall shaving comfort.

Simultaneously, the high-tech appearance of the S9000 Prestige, reminiscent of something out of a science fiction movie, has not gone unnoticed. Its aesthetic appeal, coupled with the user-approved cleaning system, adds an unexpected but welcomed bonus to the shaving experience.

We should note that long-time users of electric shavers believe the S9000 Prestige lives up to its name, offering an exceptional shave that justifies its cost. Meanwhile, newcomers to electric shaving are pleasantly surprised by the gentleness on their skin, often highlighting the shaver’s ease of use.

As we see it, although it represents a higher-end price point, the consensus among many is that the investment in the S9000 Prestige ushers in a new era of convenience and skin comfort, especially for those accustomed to traditional wet shaving. However, it’s not flawless. Folks who have been loyal to the brand still see room for improvement in areas like head replacement alerts and maintenance costs. Despite these minor drawbacks, the sentiment tilts heavily towards positivity around the performance and design of the shaver.

Ease of Maintenance with Clean Pod System

When it comes to keeping our electric shavers in pristine condition, the maintenance process can be a cumbersome chore. However, we found that the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige’s Clean Pod system turns this task into a breeze. Its simplicity allows for quick and efficient cleaning, ensuring the shaver remains hygienic and performs optimally over time.

In our experience, the Clean Pod system has been a striking benefit, especially for those of us keen on saving time. With just a touch of a button, the system cleans, lubricates, dries, and charges the shaver, making maintenance virtually hands-free. Moreover, the cleaning cartridge is straightforward to replace, adding to the convenience.

Yet, as we see it, while the ease of cleaning is remarkably stress-free, the cost of replacement cleaning cartridges should be noted. While not overly expensive, they do represent an ongoing cost for the continuous high performance of the shaver. So it’s a trade-off between convenience and running costs, which we believe is justified, given the exceptional shave quality and the time saved.

Philips Norelco S9000 Conclusion

After putting the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige through its paces, we’ve experienced firsthand why it’s received so much adoration from users. It’s offered us a seamless shave, even on 4-day beards, gliding over the skin without pulling – a common discomfort with lesser models. The inclusion of the Clean Pod seemed more than a gimmick to us; it genuinely kept the shaver in top condition, which contributed to the lasting sharpness of the blades.

Despite being on the higher end of the price spectrum, we believe the S9000 justifies its cost with its performance and features. For those hesitant about electric shavers, this model may change your mind with its ability to tackle various beard densities with ease and comfort. The Precision Trimmer also proved to be a standout for detailed work on sideburns and mustaches.

We’ve appreciated the impressive battery life, which easily supported multiple shaves on a single charge. And for individuals like us with busy schedules, this efficiency is crucial.

Our verdict is that if you’re in the market for a top-tier electric shaver that offers a close, comfortable, and convenient shave, the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige should be a serious consideration. While not every shaver may suit every skin or beard type, we found the S9000 Prestige to handle the majority with exceptional proficiency.

    • Thank you for your question, CosmicCathy. Many users with sensitive skin have found the Philips S9000 Prestige to be gentle and effective. However, individual experiences may vary, so it might be worth trying it out to see how it works for you.

  • I don’t usually like electric razors because I feel like they don’t shave very well but this one was really good! Be careful with it though because you can hurt yourself with it if you aren’t careful. It would be great for someone who’s afraid of razors but still want to shave. You can also use it without water which makes it really convenient.

    • Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found this shaver to be effective and convenient!

  • This is the only thing my older teens will use! Of course, they each had to have their own but it makes the time they need to get ready quicker. We won’t tell them my husband uses one of theirs from time to time!

    • Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s great to hear that it works well for your older teens and even your husband!

  • I’ve been using this shaver for a month and it dies after a minute of use. Can someone tell me how to properly charge it?

    • Thank you for your comment, Isabella. To charge the Philips Norelco S9000, make sure you use the provided charger. Connect it to the shaver and plug it into an outlet. The charging indicator light should turn on, and it usually takes about an hour for a full charge.

        • No, you don’t need to completely drain the battery before recharging it. The Philips Norelco S9000 has a lithium-ion battery, which can be charged at any time without affecting its lifespan.

    • Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you’re enjoying the long battery life of the Philips S9000.

        • Frequent charging shouldn’t significantly affect the battery life, but it’s always a good idea to let it run down occasionally before recharging to maintain battery health.

    • Thank you for your honest feedback. It’s unfortunate that you experienced some issues. Being gentle and using the shaver in the direction of hair growth can sometimes help reduce nicks.

  • I find the battery life on the Philips S9000 to be lacking. It dies quickly and there’s no indicator to show the charge level. Any solutions?

    • Thank you for your feedback, MadisonU. Keeping the shaver charged regularly and monitoring its performance can help mitigate the issue. Unfortunately, the lack of a battery indicator is a known limitation.

  • Feels great on skin and makes a very close shave. Only used it once so far so still waiting to see if it causes razor bumps.

  • I was looking for a beard trimmer and this isn’t it. It does the job it’s supposed to do but I am a thick-bearded Irish man who needs a far stronger blade to trim through my week-long growth. I did find other applications for it, such as shaving the disgusting hair that oddly grows on the outside of my ears. For that, it’s perfect. It does have value for the price.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s good to know that it works well for other applications like trimming ear hair. We appreciate your feedback!

    • Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s good to know it works well as a travel razor, even if it’s not ideal for daily use.

  • I’ve had issues with the guards breaking off mid-shave. This is really frustrating. Is this a common problem?

    • Thank you for your comment, CameronR74. Yes, some users have reported that the guards can be flimsy and break off during use.

        • Philips does offer replacement guards, but there’s no indication they are more durable than the originals. You might want to check if they have introduced any improved versions.

    • Thank you for your comment, ElijahX. We’re glad to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige is gentle on your sensitive skin.

  • This is the only thing my older teens will use! Of course, they each had to have their own but it makes the time they need to get ready quicker.

  • I thought it would be a great alternative to normal blades, but it’s difficult to clean and the blades pull the hair.

    • Thanks for your review. We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Proper cleaning and blade maintenance can sometimes help, but it sounds like it didn’t meet your needs.

    • Thank you for your comment, VioletR. It’s great to hear that you’re satisfied with the close shave. We understand that the blade cost can be a concern and appreciate your feedback.

        • Double-checking the address during the purchase process and ensuring your account details are up-to-date can help prevent such issues. Also, contacting customer support immediately can expedite the resolution.

  • The razor by itself is fine, not a fan of having to replace but I use to have a older version and I could make it last. The beard guard just really frustrated me, it just barely cuts and made me waste time. Love the design but better personally as a second hand close shave

    • Thank you for your honest review, SydneyT96. We’re glad you like the design but sorry to hear about the frustration with the beard guard.

  • Only had it 2 days but I already think it’s superior to regular razors and trimmers. This thing hugs your face without cutting into your skin. It only cuts the hair. 5/5.

  • Does anyone else find that it takes a long time to get a clean shave with this? It’s great for trimming but not so much for a quick shave.

    • Thanks for your comment, RyanM! The time it takes to get a clean shave can vary depending on individual hair types and thickness. For a quicker shave, make sure the blades are sharp and the device is fully charged.

  • If you have sensitive skin and will be using this to get a clean shave, this product is NOT FOR YOU.

    • Thank you for your honest feedback, TrevorG. Sensitive skin can indeed be tricky with electric shavers. We hope your comment helps others with similar skin types make a better choice.

    • Hi jazz_junky! Yes, several users have found the Philips S9000 Prestige to be effective for head shaving as well. However, results can vary, so it might take some getting used to.

  • My husband likes this product. It shaves well. Only problem is whiskers fall while shaving like a straight edge blade but it does give a good shave and charge does last.

  • I received this as a gift and my husband loves it. He gets fewer razor nicks now. Anyone else have a similar experience?

    • Thank you for your comment, fashionista. Many users have reported fewer razor nicks with the Philips S9000, making it a popular choice for those looking to avoid traditional razor cuts.

  • No complaints at all about the shave itself. It’s as close a shave as most people will ever need. However, I wish it had USB charging.

    • Thank you for your feedback, TrevorA. We’re glad you like the shave. Your suggestion about USB charging is noted.

        • Currently, there isn’t an official USB adapter for this model, but you can look for third-party solutions. Just ensure they are compatible and safe to use.

  • I was skeptical at first, but this shaver has proven to be the best electric razor I’ve ever had. It doesn’t pull the skin and cuts shaving time in half.

    • Thank you for your feedback, BookBuff. We’re thrilled to hear that the Philips S9000 Prestige has exceeded your expectations and improved your shaving experience. Enjoy!

    • Thank you for your feedback, SawyerT! We’re thrilled to hear that you find the trimmer amazing and effective.

    • Thank you for your feedback, TaylorB79. Some users do experience a bit of stubble after using the shaver.

        • You can try using the shaver on wet skin with shaving cream for a closer shave. Also, ensure you’re pulling the skin taut during shaving.

  • This shaver intermittently turns off during use and pulls at my face hairs, which is quite painful.

    • We’re sorry to hear about your experience, tuba_tamer. Have you tried contacting Philips customer service? They may be able to provide a replacement.

  • I travel a lot and this shaver is a lifesaver. Small and easy to pack. Highly recommend for frequent travelers.

  • Very close shave (possibly best ever for me) and little to no skin irritation. I do think the blades wear out a bit quickly and the battery is completely dead now after 6 months and will not hold a charge. That is extremely disappointing because it is an otherwise excellent shaving option, but “outside product support window” according to Amazon.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you found the shave close and irritation-free but sorry to hear about the battery issue. We appreciate your detailed feedback.

  • Enjoyed the product while it lasted, short return window. I would appreciate a replacement head as it broke 4 month in.

    • Hi Grace Davis, sorry to hear about the issue. You might want to contact Philips customer service for assistance with replacement parts.

    • Thanks for your comment, ArtisticAndy. Some users have mentioned needing to charge the Philips s9000 frequently. It might be a good idea to charge it overnight to ensure it’s always ready when you need it.

  • I thought this would be a great alternative to normal blades as it is rechargeable, but it is really difficult to clean. The hair gets stuck in the area below the blades.

    • Thanks for your feedback, Michael Doe. We appreciate the warning. Ensuring the head is properly secured before use might help mitigate this issue.

    • Thank you for your comment, drum_bass. The blade popping off can happen if it’s not securely attached. Make sure to press it firmly into place until you hear a click.

        • Yes, regular cleaning is essential. Rinse the blade under running water after each use and let it air dry. Also, periodically apply a drop of oil to keep it running smoothly.

  • The battery life on this shaver is disappointing. It takes forever to charge and doesn’t last very long. Anyone else experiencing this?

    • Thank you for your comment, space_fan. Yes, some users have reported issues with the battery life and long charging times.

        • Unfortunately, there’s no way to significantly improve the battery performance. However, making sure to fully charge and discharge the battery periodically might help maintain its efficiency.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback, TechnoTrooper! We’re glad to hear that the dual-sided blade is making beard maintenance easier for you.

      • Absolutely! Do you know if there are any special techniques to get the best use out of the dual-sided blade?

        • For the best results, use the dual-sided blade at different angles to follow the natural contours of your face. This will help in achieving precise edging and styling.

  • Does anyone else feel like the design makes it difficult to shave areas like the neck and jawline? I find it takes a long time and causes skin irritation.

    • Thank you for your comment, AveryW21. The design can indeed be challenging for certain areas. Taking your time and using gentle pressure can help reduce irritation, but it’s something Philips may need to improve in future models.

  • Works as advertised!! Light weight and very easy to trim my beard. And it has the power to run strong every time!

    • Thanks for your positive feedback, DakotaW34! It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying the shaver. Have you had any issues with the battery life?

      • Not really, but I only use it for quick trims. How long should I expect the battery to last with frequent use?

        • With frequent use, you should get around60 minutes of shaving time per charge. If you notice a decline, it might be worth looking into battery replacement options.

  • This trimmer is a handy companion for travelers thanks to its small size and portability. However, my only knock is that it might not give you the cleanest shave in just one pass.

    • Thank you for your comment, Shane. The Philips s9000 is designed for daily trimming and might not replace a traditional razor for a close shave. We appreciate your feedback.

    • Thank you for your comment, Taylor81. We’re glad to hear that you appreciate the design and build quality of the Philips S9000 Prestige!

  • This is a great trimmer for any length of hair to be trimmed or shaved. It doesn’t cut exceptionally close so I follow it with my regular foil razor and get an awesome shave, as a trimmer I love it.

    • Thank you for your comment, movie_buff. To extend the life of the blades, make sure to clean them thoroughly after each use and store the shaver in a dry place. Avoid using the shaver on very coarse hair without trimming first.

  • I was very skeptical of this razor, but it’s not expensive, so figured I’d give it a go. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner!

    • Thank you for your feedback, AnnelieseQ! We’re glad you decided to give the Philips s9000 Prestige a try and that it exceeded your expectations.

  • I have been using this razor for about a year now. It’s the best electric razor I have ever used. It shaves close to the skin (ALMOST like shaving with cream and a razor). I have had minimal razor burn. The only gripe I have is that I use it once a week and the blade needs to be switched out about every month and a half and those get pricey. It is super easy to swap out heads and clean. The battery life seems like it could be slightly better but use it at home close to an outlet and you will not have a problem.

    • Thank you for your detailed review, car_enthusiast! We’re happy to hear you’re satisfied with the close shave and ease of use. We understand your concerns about the blade costs and battery life.

    • Thank you for your feedback, journal_junkie! We’re happy to hear that it has helped with your razor burn.

  • I usually shave once a week and this shaver has been a game-changer for me. It cuts in both directions and gives a visible shave like a razor, although it’s a bit stubbly to the touch. My only gripe is the lack of an LED indicator for battery status.

    • Thank you for your feedback, PuzzlePiper. We’re glad to hear that the Philips S9000 Prestige is working well for your weekly shaves. The lack of an LED indicator is indeed a downside, but we’re happy to hear it still meets most of your needs.

  • I like the precision of this shaver, but the instructions on how to put the guard on are not very clear. Any advice?

    • Thank you for your comment, AveryH22. To attach the guard, make sure it aligns properly with the slots and clicks into place. If the instructions are still unclear, you might find video tutorials online helpful.

  • Pretty good but I wouldn’t say great. It definitely doesn’t cut as close as a real shave but if you don’t mind that it’s a good product.

  • The shave isn’t as close as I had hoped. I was hoping for something closer all around than my electric razor, but it’s about the same.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience, John Rodriguez. We understand that achieving a close shave is important, and your feedback will help others with similar expectations.

  • Bought this for my husband but he didn’t like it and went back to his old one. Nothing wrong with it, just not for him.

    • Thank you for sharing, MilaN. Sometimes it takes time to adjust to a new shaver. It’s great that his old one still works for him.

        • It could be due to personal preference or familiarity with his old shaver. Different shavers suit different people, especially depending on skin type and hair texture.

  • This shaver is great for daily maintenance but not for longer hair. I use it once a week and it works fine for that. Anyone else using it this way?

    • Thank you for your feedback, JamesN. Using the shaver for regular maintenance is a good way to keep it performing well. It is indeed better suited for shorter hair.

  • I enjoyed the product for the short period that I had it before the flimsy hinges that connect the head to the body of the razor broke.

    • Thank you for your feedback, EmmaR. We’re sorry to hear about the issue with the hinges. It’s definitely something to consider.

  • Does anyone know if this shaver is waterproof? I want to rinse it off after use but I’m worried about damaging it.

    • Great question, soul_sister! The shaver is indeed washable, so you can rinse the razor part off. Just make sure not to submerge the entire unit in water.

  • Others may find this thing to be great, but I do not. I am using it to shave only some parts of my face as I have a beard that covers the majority of it. I find that this does not provide a close shave, at all.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience, FitFinn. It seems like the shaver might not be the best fit for your needs, especially if you’re looking for a closer shave.

  • I thought this thing was something special based on the photos. I thought it had a mesh that cut closer to the face but the reality is there are2 blades, one on each side. I couldn’t even trim my sideburns because the plastic guards wouldn’t let the blade get close enough. Used once and returned

  • I’ve been using this shaver for a year now. It’s the best electric razor I’ve ever had, though the battery life could be better.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback! We’re glad to hear you’re satisfied with the shaver. Battery life can vary, but staying near an outlet can help mitigate this issue.

        • Yes, I would recommend using a good moisturizer after shaving, like Neutrogena Men Triple Protect Face Lotion. It helps soothe the skin and provides a smooth finish.

  • My husband likes this product, but it only came with one blade instead of the advertised three. Can we get the additional blades?

    • Thank you for your feedback, AdventurousAva. It sounds like there might have been an error with your purchase. We recommend contacting the retailer or Philips customer service to address the missing blades.

    • Thank you for your comment, user001. The Philips S9000 Prestige does tend to leave a slight stubble, which some users prefer. If you’re looking for a super clean shave, a traditional razor might be a better option.

    • Thank you for your comment, Jack! We’re happy to hear the shaver provides a good shave without causing ingrown hairs.

    • Thanks for your comment, Jamie. For thick beards, this shaver might not provide a completely clean shave. You might need to shave more frequently or consider a different model.

    • Thanks for your honest review, FinnH. We’re sorry to hear that it didn’t meet your expectations for beard trimming.

  • They market this thing well, but it’s just another cheap short-lived trimmer. The guards break and fall off mid shave causing you to accidentally mess up your beard. I like my Norelco more than this.

    • Thank you for your feedback, NatureNate. We’re sorry to hear that the shaver didn’t meet your expectations for trimming a beard. Your insights are valuable for potential users.

    • Thank you for your question, Mason Lee. The Philips S9000 Prestige is versatile and works well for both clean shaves and trimming beards. It comes with different attachments to help you achieve your desired beard length.

        • For optimal performance, it’s recommended to clean the shaver after each use. This will help maintain the sharpness of the blades and ensure a hygienic shaving experience.

    • Hi RetroRob, we appreciate your feedback. Blade longevity can vary based on usage. We hope the replacement blades work better for you.

  • The Philips S9000 seems to work well for trimming, but I’m not sure if it will be good for a full shave. Any thoughts?

  • I was skeptical at first, but the Philips s9000 has really impressed me. It gives a close shave without any nicks or cuts.

  • I bought this as a replacement for my OneBlade Pro. It’s okay, but if you’re used to the OneBlade Pro, you might be disappointed.

    • Thanks for sharing, Liam. We understand that transitioning from one model to another can sometimes be challenging. We appreciate your feedback and hope you find the Norelco Prestige useful in other ways.

  • Black men or anyone who has coarse hair look no further I am here! So I bought this product a couple weeks ago and I’ve used it twice. I have 4b/4a hair around my chin and obviously its pretty curly and us black men want to avoid razors because they give us ingrown hairs which look awful (exfoliate to get rid of them). So I picked up this device since it says that it will cut very close but won’t cut where its smooth to the touch, and that’s what we want as men with very coarse hair.

  • Great electric razor. It doesn’t leave area smooth but it does leave the area smooth enough that the use of a regular close razor will go across the area with ease. Well worth the money.

    • Thanks for your feedback, Michael Williams. We’re happy to hear you find it worth the money and effective for your needs.

    • Hi Mia Lopez, thanks for your comment. The Philips s9000 Prestige is designed for human use, so it might not be suitable for grooming pets.

  • This shaver is perfect for touching up long fine hairs every few days. It’s not as quick as a big electric shaver but offers a near-razor shave without irritation.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear that it works well for touching up and provides a near-razor shave without irritation.

    • Thank you for your loyalty, RileyT29. We’re happy to hear that you love the shaver, and we appreciate your feedback on the shave closeness.

    • Yes, this shaver is quite versatile and works well for trimming beards. Many users have found it effective for maintaining different lengths of facial hair.

  • As soon as I got it I charged it and used it. It worked really well until I noticed some irritation on the neck. When I looked closely on the razor head, I noticed one of the metal razor teeth was sticking out.

    • Thanks for your detailed feedback, MelodyMaddie. We’re sorry to hear about the irritation issue. Checking the razor head for any defects before use is a good precaution.

  • I love how easy the Philips S9000 is to use and clean. However, I noticed there’s no battery indicator. Does anyone else find this inconvenient?

    • Thank you for your comment, RileyB88. The lack of a battery indicator can indeed be inconvenient. Keeping an eye on the performance of the shaver can help you gauge when it needs to be charged.

  • It doesn’t shave as close as a multi blade razor. It does do more than a eye brow or nose trimmer. It is similar in design but with removable heads and has a wear indicator. Still a bit pricey on replacements but no more so than a foil razor. It is easy to hold, comes with guards that you can use for a stubble effect, trim mustache or eye brows. It is much easier to make sharp trim line that trying to adapt a pop up trimmer to do the same on a bulky shaver. I will say it’s almost impossible to cut yourself with this trimmer unlike a multi blade razor, ouch. I also didn’t notice any razor burn like you can have to deal with on foil or rotory shavers and aggressive attempt to get that stubborn stray hair. It’s more accessory item than an all-in-one for me unless your going for the shadow effect light stubble or just precise trimmed edges. Works well, but a subjective decision depending on how close you want to trim.

    • Thank you for your detailed review, SkylerW54. We’re glad you find it effective and appreciate your insights on its use.

  • I bought this for my husband, and he likes it. It shaves well but whiskers fall everywhere like with a straight edge blade. Does anyone have tips to minimize the mess?

    • Thanks for sharing! To minimize the mess, you can try shaving over a sink or using a small handheld vacuum to quickly clean up the whiskers. Using shaving cream can also help contain the hairs.

        • Yes, shaving cream can help by sticking to the hairs, making them less likely to scatter. It can also provide a smoother shaving experience.

  • For short stubbles , you’ll need to use as a wet shaver with shaving cream. Dry shaving stubbles with this isn’t going to give you a smooth skin shave as to wet shaving.

    • Thank you for your comment, MayaW. We appreciate your insight on using the Philips s9000 Prestige for short stubble. Your tip about wet shaving will be helpful for others.

  • I absolutely loath shaving. Always have. But I don’t like having a beard either so it’s a have to activity. I do have a goatee that I have had for years. I used to blade shave and then use a beard trimmer but no more. All I use is this little gem for it all now and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Easy, easy, easy is what I call shaving now. Love this thing and I hope they never quit making them.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience, GeekyGina! We’re thrilled to hear that this shaver has made your routine easier and more enjoyable.

  • Good shaver, cuts down to where you can barely see the hairs even if at all. You gotta be careful not to break anything though bcz it’s pretty delicate but otherwise a very good trimmer

    • Thank you for your comment, JayceY. It’s great to hear that you find the Philips s9000 Prestige effective! We’ll make sure to emphasize the need for careful handling.

  • I have sensitive skin and this shaver works great for me. Does anyone else with sensitive skin use it?

    • Thank you for your comment, Ella Smith. Yes, many users with sensitive skin have found this shaver to be gentle and effective.

        • Using a good pre-shave oil or gel can help reduce irritation. Post-shave balms or moisturizers specifically designed for sensitive skin can also enhance comfort.

  • I have a beard and I just use this shaver for trimming the edges. I find it difficult to see where it’s cutting, and I’ve accidentally shaved off more than I intended. Anyone else have this issue?

    • Thank you for your comment, psychology_fan. Yes, some users have mentioned that it can be tricky to see where the shaver is cutting, especially when trimming edges.

        • Using a mirror with good lighting and going slowly can help. Some people also use a comb to outline the area they want to trim, which can act as a guide.

    • Thank you for sharing your positive experience, DavidS! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the shaver’s ease of cleaning and portability.

        • It’s generally recommended to replace the blades every4 months for optimal performance, but this can vary depending on how often you use the shaver.

  • I got this due to regular shaving ALWAYS giving me terrible and nasty razor bumps. What I can say off of first using it is it left a close shave like a normal razor would, however, you HAVE TO go in the way the hair is growing for it to be more efficient.

    • Thank you for your comment, WanderWoman. We’re happy to hear that the battery life and travel convenience of the Philips S9000 Prestige are working well for you. Safe travels!

  • I shave weekly and this shaver works well for my routine. However, I can’t tell when it’s fully charged. Is there a way to know?

    • Thank you for your comment, FitFrank. Unfortunately, the Philips S9000 Prestige doesn’t have a charge indicator to show when it’s fully charged.

        • Modern batteries are designed to handle overnight charging without significant harm. However, it’s generally a good practice to unplug once it’s fully charged to prolong battery life.

    • Thanks for your question, CreativeCaden. Yes, the Philips s9000 can be used with shaving cream for a closer and more comfortable shave.

        • Using shaving cream does not negatively affect the blades or the shaver’s performance. In fact, it can enhance the overall shaving experience.

    • Thank you for your comment. Yes, some users have found it loud and difficult to clean due to the small teeth. It’s a common issue.

  • Like the precision and how close it got. My only negative thing is trying to figure out how to put the guard on to trim my beard. The instructions are not clear or helpful.

    • Thank you for your comment, marine_biologist. We’re glad you like the precision but sorry to hear about your difficulties with the instructions. We’ll pass this feedback along.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback, steampunk_star. We’re happy to hear that your boyfriend is enjoying the Philips S9000 Prestige.

    • Thank you for your recommendation, CodingCarl! We’re glad you enjoy the smooth and quiet performance.

  • Decided to give this a try given its great reviews. If you have sensitive skin and will be using this to get a clean shave, this product is NOT FOR YOU.

    • Thank you for your comment, anime_fan. We appreciate your feedback on its performance for sensitive skin.

  • I appreciate the ergonomic design and the quality construction of this shaver. It feels just right in my hand.

    • Thank you for your feedback, MilesC. We’re glad to hear that you appreciate the ergonomic design and quality construction of the Philips S9000 Prestige. Enjoy your shaving experience!

  • Good shaver, cuts down to where you can barely see the hairs even if at all. You gotta be careful not to break anything though because it’s pretty delicate.

    • Thank you for your feedback, AlexP25. We appreciate your cautionary note about its delicacy. Have you had any issues with parts breaking?

        • Yes, replacement parts like blades and combs are generally available on the Philips website and other major retailers. It’s good to have a spare set just in case.

  • I love the idea of this shaver, but it takes significantly longer to shave compared to a disposable Gillette razor.

    • Thank you for your feedback, KiaraG. The Philips S9000 Prestige can take longer for some users, especially if you’re used to disposable razors.

  • I got this because regular shaving always gives me terrible razor bumps. After using this shaver, I had no razor bumps at all.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience, Jordan! We’re glad to hear the shaver helps you avoid razor bumps.

    • Gracias por tu comentario, RileyY. Nos complace saber que encontraste útil y fácil de usar el producto, aunque lamentamos que no afeitara tan bien como esperabas.

  • I bought this for beard and neck hair maintenance. It’s great for quick touch-ups but not for a really close shave.

    • Thank you for your comment, JoshP. We’re glad the Philips S9000 Prestige works well for your beard and neck hair maintenance. For a really close shave, a traditional razor might be a better option.

    • Thank you for your enthusiastic feedback, Emma Martin! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the shaver.

  • This shaver is life-changing for me! No more ingrown hairs or cuts. Only downside is the angle of the head.

    • Thank you for your enthusiastic feedback! We’re glad it works so well for you. Your suggestion about the angle of the head is noted.

  • I like the precision of this shaver, but the instructions for attaching the guard are unclear. Can anyone help?

    • Thank you for your comment, Mia Thomas. The instructions can be a bit confusing. It’s usually a matter of aligning the guard with the slots and snapping it into place.

        • Yes, Philips has video tutorials on their official website and YouTube channel that demonstrate how to attach and use the guards properly.

  • I use this shaver for both my face and chest. It works well, but I dislike the USB plug. Anyone else find this inconvenient?

    • Thank you for your feedback, math_whiz. While the USB plug is convenient for some, others may prefer a regular plug. Your feedback is valuable and might help inform future product designs.

    • Thank you for your honest review, PuzzlePro. It’s important to know this shaver might not be ideal for those with sensitive skin.

        • You might want to try the Philips Norelco Series7000, which is specifically designed to reduce skin irritation and is often recommended for sensitive skin.

  • I love the razor, but hate the battery. It barely lasts long enough to do the job.

    • Thank you for your comment, classic_connoisseur. Battery life can indeed be a concern for some users. You might want to consider trying a more expensive model to compare battery performance.

    • Thank you for your feedback, graphic_artist! We’re glad to hear you have a positive view of Philips. Have you tried other Philips products?

      • Yes, I’ve used their toothbrushes too. They seem reliable. How often should I replace the blades on this shaver?

        • For optimal performance, it’s recommended to replace the blades every4 months. However, this can vary based on usage and hair type.

  • This thing is great I’ve had it a long time and use it almost every day for quick touchups and to keep my beard lines straight.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback, retro_raver! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the shaver for your daily touch-ups.

        • Yes, the blades are designed to last for several months with daily use, but it’s always good to have a replacement blade on hand just in case.

  • It’s a good product, I mostly use it for trimming the neckline and beardline it works pretty well for those areas.

    • Thanks for your feedback, Grace. The Philips s9000 is designed to provide a close shave, but results can vary depending on beard type and technique.

  • This trimmer was as perfectly as I expected it very nice, easy and clean it’s washable Waterproof. so you can even use it in your shower battery life it’s about3weeks before to recharge it I recommend this one it’s so nice.

    • Thank you for your recommendation, DawsonB! We’re glad to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige meets your expectations and that you find it convenient and long-lasting.

  • This shaver doesn’t catch clippings well, so you pretty much have to use it in the shower. Not sure what the advantage of this device is.

    • Thank you for your comment, Alice. The Philips Norelco S9000 is designed for both wet and dry use, but it’s true that it doesn’t catch clippings like some other models.

        • Yes, using it in the shower can make the process cleaner and more comfortable, especially since it doesn’t catch clippings as well during dry use.

    • Thank you for your feedback! We understand the convenience of USB charging and hope Philips considers it for future models.

    • Hi vaporwave_visionary, yes, many users have found it effective for trimming beards. The dual-sided blade helps with precise edging and styling.

  • I had a similar issue with the charging cable. It’s frustrating that it costs $16 for a replacement!

    • Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be to replace parts. Hopefully, the shaver itself continues to perform well for you.

  • The shaver is good, but I find it a bit slow for my liking. Any tips to speed up the shaving process?

    • Thanks for your comment! To speed up the shaving process, make sure to use short, consistent strokes and keep the shaver clean for optimal performance.

        • Using shaving cream can provide a smoother glide and might help speed up the process. However, the Philips S9000 is designed for both wet and dry use, so it works well either way.

  • I got the Philips Norelco OneBlade Hybrid Electric Trimmer and Shaver hoping it would be a good all-in-one tool for my grooming routine. However, I found that it struggles with thicker hair and longer beards.

    • Thanks for your input, NatalieM. It seems like the shaver may not be the best for thicker hair. We appreciate your honest feedback.

        • You might want to check out the Philips Norelco OneBlade Pro. It has a more powerful motor and adjustable combs for different hair lengths.

    • Thanks for your question, AnimalAdam. Many users with thick facial hair have found it to be effective, though it might require multiple passes for a close shave.

  • Got this shaver for its great reviews on man-scaping, but it cut me a couple of times. Not recommended for sensitive areas.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience, SignalScholar. It’s always best to use the smallest guard when trimming sensitive areas to avoid nicks.

  • I was excited to use the Philips Norelco S9000, but the hinges broke after a short period. Is this a common issue?

    • Thanks for sharing your experience, AlexC71. It sounds like you might have received a defective unit. While it’s not a common issue, we recommend reaching out to Philips customer service for a replacement or repair.

    • Thank you for your comment. Yes, some users have mentioned that the replacement blades can be pricey.

  • You can’t get a clean shave with this unless you spend a lot of time. But it’s good for trimming and rough shaving.

    • Thank you for your feedback, Alex. The Philips Norelco S9000 is indeed better suited for trimming and rough shaving rather than achieving a clean shave.

        • Using short, quick strokes and making sure the blades are sharp can help speed up the process. Regular maintenance and cleaning also improve efficiency.

  • This works surprisingly well on short hairs but not so great on longer hair. The blades wear out quickly, and replacements are pricey.

    • Thank you for your detailed feedback. It’s true that the shaver performs best on shorter hairs. Regular blade replacements are necessary to maintain performance.

        • Yes, make sure to clean the blades thoroughly after each use and avoid applying too much pressure while shaving to extend their lifespan.

    • Thank you for your enthusiastic feedback, Grace Brown! We’re thrilled to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige is the best razor you’ve ever used.

  • I love the idea of this shaver, but it’s significantly slower and less close than a standard disposable razor.

    • Thank you for your comment, MovieMatt. We understand that the Philips s9000 Prestige might not be as fast as a disposable razor. However, it does offer other benefits like reduced skin irritation and the convenience of not needing shaving cream.

  • I know this is a shaver for men, but I’ve been using it for my legs and it works great! No irritation at all.

    • Hi NatalieS, thanks for your comment. It’s great to hear that the shaver works well for you even though it’s designed for men.

  • I really liked this shaver. It worked great. The only issue that I have with it is that after a year it will no longer hold a charge. I am looking for a replacement and not sure if I will buy it again. Is a year all i should expect to get out of it???

    • Hi NovelNina, thank you for your comment. It’s unfortunate to hear about the battery issue. Typically, the shaver should last longer than a year, so contacting Philips customer service might help resolve this.

  • This shaver is great for quick touchups and keeping my beard lines straight. Easier to use than a regular razor. Highly recommend.

    • Thank you for your recommendation, Ben! We’re glad to hear that the Philips Norelco S9000 works well for your grooming needs.

        • With regular use for quick touchups, you should only need to charge it about once every two weeks. The battery life is quite impressive.

  • I really like using this shaver for my face and chest. However, I don’t like the USB plug for charging.

    • Thank you for your feedback, Jamie. We’re glad to hear you like the shaver. Your comment about the USB plug is noted and will be shared with the team.

  • The single attachment for multiple lengths is a great feature. It saves me from constantly switching attachments.

    • Thank you for your feedback, ChrisB18! We’re glad you find the single attachment feature convenient and useful.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback, OscarF! We’re glad to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige is working well for your daily use and helping to prevent razor bumps.

    • Thanks for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that it provides a nice shave and is quick and easy to use.

  • As a pilot, I need a close shave every day. This shaver has been perfect for me, compact and efficient!

    • Thank you for your feedback, tanka_tribe! We’re pleased to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige meets your needs as a pilot and helps you maintain a close shave.

  • I constantly have ingrown hairs and this shaver has helped reduce that. It’s not as close as a real shave but good enough for me.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience, Sophia. We’re glad to hear that the Philips S9000 Prestige has helped reduce your ingrown hairs.

    • Thank you for your comment, CharlieB12. We’re glad to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige provides a smooth shave without nicks or cuts.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback, Hayden! We’re thrilled to hear that the Philips S9000 Prestige is providing you with a comfortable and close shave.

  • Worked better than I thought it would to be honest. No itchiness, no patchiness… it genuinely feels smooth after I shave my face with it.

    • Thank you for your feedback, MiaH! We’re happy to hear that the shaver worked better than expected and provided a smooth shave.

    • Thank you for your feedback, Jacob! We’re pleased to hear you are enjoying the shaver and that it provides a clean shave without irritation.

  • I have not shaved with a razor since I bought the first gen of these and now this one is even better. The attachments are great for both body and face!

    • Thank you for your positive feedback, Benjamin! It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying the latest version of the Philips S9000 Prestige.

    • Thank you for your feedback, HunterQ! We’re happy to hear the shaver meets and even exceeds your expectations.

    • Thanks for bringing this up, broadway_buff. Clear instructions are essential for a good user experience.

        • Yes, Philips often provides video tutorials on their official website and YouTube channel. These can be very helpful for understanding how to use the attachments.

  • I bought this razor as it seemed like it would work well. This shouldn’t be a replacement for a razor or a beard trimmer. I was having difficulty using this as a beard trimmer.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience, trip_hop_star. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations as a beard trimmer. Have you tried using different length settings or attachments?

        • If the shaver isn’t meeting your needs, you might want to consider a dedicated beard trimmer with a stronger motor. Philips has other models that might be more suited for heavy-duty trimming.

  • I don’t usually like electric razors because I feel like they don’t shave very well but this one was really good! Be careful with it though because you can hurt yourself with it if you aren’t careful. It would be great for someone who’s afraid of razors but still want to shave. You can also use it w/o water which makes it really convenient.

    • Thank you for your feedback, Mia Moore. We’re glad you found this shaver effective and appreciate the cautionary advice.

    • Thank you for your question, CreativeCamille. The Philips S9000 Prestige works well for trimming body hair, thanks to its versatile attachments and precise trimming capabilities.

        • Trimming body hair might take slightly longer due to the larger surface area, but the shaver’s performance remains efficient. Using the appropriate attachment can help speed up the process.

    • Thank you for your comment, MilaH. The battery life can be a concern for some users, especially if the shaver is used frequently.

    • Thanks for asking! This shaver comes with an adjustable attachment, so you don’t need multiple attachments for different lengths.

  • I stopped shaving my face with this as it’s pretty far from a cleaner shave, but I’ve kept it for months now and worth a keep since it’s one of the fastest and easiest shaving methods for body hair I’ve come across.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience, MusicMike! We’re delighted to hear that the Philips S9000 Prestige has been gentle on your sensitive skin.

  • This shaver is great for sensitive skin, but the blades don’t stay sharp for4 months as stated. Replacement blades are expensive.

    • Thanks for your comment, ElijahV. It’s good to hear that it works well for sensitive skin, but we understand your concerns about the blade longevity and cost.

    • Thank you for your feedback, ChrisP20. Yes, some users have reported that the guards can be tricky to attach. Make sure to align them properly and snap them into place.

        • Aligning the guards with the slots and applying even pressure should help. Watching a tutorial video can also provide a visual guide on how to attach them correctly.

    • Thanks for your feedback! Some users have mentioned that they’d prefer a bit more power, especially for thicker hair. It’s a common observation.

    • Thank you for your comment, InfoIlluminator. We’re glad to hear that you find it easy to use and effective in the shower.

  • I bought this shaver for quick trims on the go. It’s light and easy to carry. How do you guys clean it after use?

    • Thank you for your comment, BookWorm. Cleaning is simple: just rinse the blade under running water and let it dry. Make sure to follow the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions for best results.

  • We LOVE this shaver! Great for beginners and experienced shavers, especially for seniors on blood thinners. The downside is that chargers are model-specific and expensive.

    • Thank you for your feedback, DataDreamer. It’s great to hear that the shaver is working well for your family. We understand that the chargers can be a bit of a hassle.

    • Sorry to hear about your experience, KeeganD. Make sure you’re using the correct charger and that the charging port is clean and free of debris.

    • Thanks for your input, dnb_king. It’s important to set the right expectations, and your comment will help others understand the shaver’s capabilities better.

    • Thank you for your question, ParkerM72. The Philips S9000 Prestige does come with a proprietary charger and does not use USB charging, which some users find less convenient.

        • While it’s always best to use the original charger, some third-party adapters may work. However, using non-original chargers can void the warranty and potentially harm the device.

  • I have an old OneBlade made much better now1 is made cheap does not sound as good battery only lasts30 minutes old one I only charge it about twice a month.

    • Thank you for your question, JamieH32. The Philips S9000 Prestige is designed to provide a close and comfortable shave, which can help reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs. However, results may vary depending on individual skin types and shaving habits.

        • To further minimize ingrown hairs, you can exfoliate your skin regularly and use a gentle, alcohol-free aftershave balm. Shaving in the direction of hair growth can also help.

  • This shaver is great for trimming my head and beard line. However, the replacement blades are quite expensive.

    • Thank you for your feedback, Alexander. The cost of replacement blades can be a concern for some users, but we’re glad to hear that it works well for trimming your head and beard.

    • We appreciate your comment, SportsShane. If you’re looking for a closer shave, you might need to go over the area a few times or consider a different model that suits your needs better.

  • I bought this shaver for my teenage son. He says it’s okay but not as good as more expensive ones. Is this a common sentiment?

    • Thank you for your comment, ParkerB10. Yes, some users have found that while the shaver is decent, it may not perform as well as higher-end models.

        • If your son is looking for a closer and more efficient shave, it might be worth considering an upgrade to a higher-end model. However, for basic use, this shaver should suffice.

  • I REALLY wanted to like it and to keep it…BUT…It shaves closely, NOT like the old fashion blades. But nice. Here is the deal breaker. The shavings are NOT self contained, so you end up with shavings on your clothes, floor & sink. This is NOT acceptable to me. THAT IS a deal breaker. So I returned it for a refund.

    • Thank you for your honest feedback. It’s understandable that the lack of self-contained shavings can be a deal breaker.

    • Thank you for your feedback, engineering_enthusiast! We’re glad to hear that you find the Philips s9000 Prestige easy to use and affordable.

  • This is the best for anyone who experiences pain while shaving intimate areas. This is great for you. It doesn’t get as close as waxing or Nair but it’s great and quick.

  • Comfortable, long battery life (I haven’t found out how long yet, that’s how long it is!), multiple cutting head options. High quality as expected from Norelco. ONLY complaint is that it’s not as close of a shave as an actual razor blade.

  • I bought the OneBlade shaver for my husband, who has a thick beard, and he has been thoroughly pleased with its performance. The shaver has proven to be an excellent choice for managing dense facial hair with ease and comfort.

  • Not as good as the previous model. The charger is only USB, and the swivel head doesn’t make much difference.

    • Thank you for your feedback, Jeff Thompson. We appreciate your comments and will pass them along to the product team. We’re sorry to hear that the charger and swivel head didn’t meet your expectations.

  • This thing does exactly what a regular razor / straight razor can do. If you have a problem with razor burn or sensitivity this is your product. Takes about a minute or two to shave my whole face with this thing.

  • I found the Philips Norelco S9000 to be quite frustrating. It only shaves against the grain, leaving my face feeling rough and irritated. Plus, it takes forever to charge!

    • Thank you for your feedback, Jeff. We’re sorry to hear about your experience. The charging time and shaving direction can indeed be inconvenient for some users.

  • Easy setup, I’ve been using it without shaving cream for the face and had no nicks or cuts. Nice smooth shave every time. My only complaint is it’s a little difficult to clean the hairs out of the blade.

    • Thanks for your comment, ScarlettE. We’re glad you find the Philips s9000 Prestige fantastic for touch-ups and trimming.

  • I like the shaver, but the battery life is pretty disappointing. Does anyone know if there’s a way to make it last longer?

    • Thanks for your feedback, NatureNick. Unfortunately, the battery life is one of the common concerns with this shaver. To maximize the battery life, try to fully charge and discharge the battery periodically.

    • Sorry to hear about your disappointment, DanteX. It’s frustrating when a newer model doesn’t meet expectations.

        • Ensuring the shaver is fully charged before use and avoiding overcharging can help maintain battery life. If issues persist, contacting customer service for a replacement might be necessary.

  • I’ve been using the Philips Norelco S9000 for a few months now, and I love how close it shaves without causing any nicks or cuts. Great for my rough beard!

    • Thank you for your feedback, Chris! We’re glad to hear that the Philips Norelco S9000 is working well for your rough beard.

  • I used it to dry shave my legs and ended with no stubble or razor burn.10/10 would buy again. Ps.. didn’t see if it’s actually waterproof, that freaks me out lol.

    • Thank you for your feedback! Yes, the shaver is designed to be used wet or dry, so you can safely rinse it off under water.

    • Thank you for your input, KellyT43. While the shaver is on the pricier side, many users find its features and performance worth the investment.

    • Thank you for your feedback, Liam Martinez. We’re sorry to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige did not meet your expectations as a razor. Your input is valuable to us.

    • Thanks for your feedback, ValeriaP. Battery life can be a concern for some users. It’s something to keep in mind when considering this shaver.

  • I bought this for my teenage son who’s just starting to shave. It’s easy for him to use and doesn’t cut his skin.

    • We’re sorry to hear about the issue with your charging cable, SkylerZ73. Replacement parts can indeed be costly, but they are necessary to maintain the shaver’s performance.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback! We’re glad to hear that you think this is the best shaver you’ve tried.

  • If you grow thick facial hair frequently, it’s better to buy a higher-end product. The one blade is good for lining up your beard and giving you a stubble shave. I personally prefer to clean shave (skin smooth), and the one blade doesn’t cut that short.

    • Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your input on its performance with thick facial hair and for lining up a beard.

  • I do not have a lot of facial hair, but my hair type is pretty thick and firm, this type of blade is great for surface hair, but it takes some extra time to clean the chin area. The battery is pretty good, build quality is nice and robust, very easy to clean, every time after I am done shaving, simply rinse it clean and life is good. Again, for how cheap it is, will not complain. It is also compact so easy to carry for trips.

    • Thanks for your detailed review, MusicMolly! We’re glad you find it effective and convenient for your needs.

  • I love this razor its so easy to use and it cuts the hair so short just like using a regular razor and it quick.

    • Thank you for your positive feedback, JessP! We’re happy to hear that you’re finding the shaver easy to use and effective.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like it might not be the best fit for everyone, especially for those looking for a close shave.

  • It does not shave as close as a razor or electric shaver, but it gets close enough. It is a good trimmer, battery lasts long and the blades last much longer than razor blades.

    • Thank you for your feedback, insect_collector. We’re glad to know you appreciate the battery life and durability of the blades.

    • Thanks for your enthusiastic feedback, lofi_lover! We’re thrilled to hear you love the Philips s9000 Prestige.

    • Thank you for your comment, Noah Mills. While some irritation can occur, it’s good to hear that the Philips s9000 Prestige is less irritating compared to other shavers you’ve tried.

        • I’ve been using it for a few months now and haven’t noticed any significant issues with the battery life so far. It holds a charge well enough for my needs.

  • We LOVE this shaver! Great for beginners, great for experienced shavers, GREAT for people on blood thinners! The negative is you cannot mix the chargers between each model & the chargers are VERY expensive through Norelco and tricky to find the right one on Amazon.

    • Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that it works well for a variety of users. We understand your concern about the chargers and will take that into account.

  • I find it difficult to shave my neck with this shaver. Any tips for a better shave on the neck area?

    • Thank you for your comment, foley_artist. Shaving the neck can be tricky. Try stretching the skin tight and shaving against the grain for a closer shave.

        • Yes, using a mirror, especially one with magnification, can help you see the area better and achieve a more precise shave on the neck.

    • Thank you for your question, HaydenL67. Yes, the Philips S9000 Prestige is waterproof and can be used in the shower, making it very convenient for wet shaving.

      • That’s great to hear. Does using it wet affect the battery life or performance in any way?

        • Using it wet should not significantly affect the battery life or performance. However, always ensure the shaver is properly dried and maintained to prolong its lifespan.

  • I had trouble figuring out how to put the guard on for trimming my beard. The instructions weren’t very clear.

    • Thank you for your feedback, CallumN. We recommend watching some tutorial videos online, as they can provide visual guidance on using the guard.

  • It would be a lot nicer if there was a light indicator to let you know that the unit is fully charged or low charge.

    • Thank you for your feedback, John. We’ll pass your suggestion about the light indicator on to the product team.

        • Currently, there’s no built-in way to check the battery status without an indicator. We recommend keeping track of your charging times to avoid running out of battery.

    • Thank you for your comment, PixelPioneer. We’re sorry to hear about the irritation. You might try using a pre-shave lotion to help reduce irritation and improve your shaving experience.

  • Is the Philips s9000 good for shaving my head? I’ve been looking for a reliable shaver for that.

    • Thanks for your question, FantasyFred. Yes, the Philips s9000 is versatile and can be used for head shaving as well.

  • I have been using the Philips Norelco S9000 for a few weeks now. It works well for trimming my neck and around the edges of my beard, but I struggle to get a clean edge above my lip. Any tips?

    • Thank you for your feedback, MagnoliaI. For trimming above the lip, you might want to try using a smaller guard or a precision trimmer if you have one available. Additionally, stretching the skin slightly can help get a closer trim.

    • Thank you for your question, StarShine. Philips recommends replacing the shaving heads every12 months for optimal performance.

      • Do you find that the performance decreases significantly if you wait longer than12 months to replace the blades?
